****CORRECTION ON YUMMY PUMPKIN CUPCAKES****

So apparently I gave myself away that I'm not much of a chef...or anywhere in the realm of a chef. I thought the recipe called for Humes or Pumpkin Pie Spice...it has since been brought to my attention that Humes and Pumpkin Pie Spice are nowhere near the same ingredient! OOPS! Needless to say...DON'T PUT HUMES IN YOUR CUPCAKES! If you already have...sorry about that! It is Nutmeg or Pumpkin Pie Spice! I hope anyone that made them already figured this out and used Pumpkin Pie Spice! (I think I should probably start wearing my glasses again!) Have a fabulous day!

BYU vs. TCU Game!

Well we didn't get all of the results that we wanted to out of going to the BYU game here in Fort Worth last week! We didn't see BYU continue their winning streak; we didn't see our boys play their best football...but we got most of what we wanted out of the game...which made them losing not quite so painful! (But it still hurt pretty bad!) We got to see something that I've been wanting to see since I heard the story of how this tradition began...we got to see the BYU players do the Haka before the game (Bryce was even leading them in it; that made it that much cooler...although he may lead them in it every time)! Very cool! We got to see a beautiful sunset over Fort Worth...well it was either Fort Worth or Dallas...beautiful none the less...(Mat, thanks for pointing it out.) We got to have family that we don't see near enough come and visit...Scott and Jenny flew out from Utah for the weekend! It was so nice to spend time with them~! Thanks for taking your UEA weekend to come out and be with us! We got to hang out with lots of family...the loss was painful...but being with family is always fun! We had 4 of the 6 Moody boys (Cousins) at the football game....Hans...
Kyle... more Kyle... Haden... and Jason! And a little more hanging out and bonding time...I'm so glad that we were all able to go and spend time together....this was yet another reminder of how happy we are to be living here! We never got the gang together to take a picture at the field...so a few are missing from this picture!

Aaron's Run In...Literally (and getting ready for BYU FOOTBALL! GO COUGARS!)

Yesterday afternoon we were trying to get ready to head to the BYU Fireside that the football players put on before out of town football games. Jocelyn and her friends had to be picked up from school at 4:15...we were supposed to meet Papa at 5:00...it was 4:00 and I still wasn't ready to go; I asked Aaron if he would take the 3 younger kids and run to pick Jocelyn up from school so that I could finish getting ready... Well... I had just finished getting ready when I got a phone call from Aaron..."I just got in an accident"! He had 7 kids in the car...of course the first question was...is anyone hurt! Thank goodness nobody was hurt...everyone was fine. I ran next door to let the neighbor know their kids would be late...she and I ended up going and picking up all the kids so they didn't have to sit there while Aaron waited for the police to come. When we got there Addison started crying and I could tell that Taylore had been crying...I think it scared some of the kids pretty bad! We were REALLY lucky that they were all okay! They were hit hard enough that the guy's airbag came out; but we hope the damage isn't too bad...it doesn't look too bad; but you never know until you get it in to have it looked at. The guy that was driving the truck that hit them was uninsured; had no driver's license; had a passenger taht jumped out and took off; and it wasn't his truck...LOVELY...thank goodness for uninsured motorist insurance! (BTW...nobody in the other car was hurt either.)

We were able in the end to get to the fireside! It was really cool~! Mat & Emily kept Addison for us...which we were REALLY grateful for because it would have been crazy if Addison were there. There were so many people there...this was the biggest stake center I've ever seen...there were SO MANY PEOPLE...chairs totally filled the overflow, gym, and the stage...there were people standing around all the edges, people filled the hallways, and people in just about every room listening to it over the sound system. Haden LOVED that Fui Vakapuna spoke...I think he's probably Haden's favorite player (either that or he just likes saying his name)! It was pretty cool to see all of the players that we watch on TV every Saturday in this setting! Bronco Mendenhall and his wife both spoke, a couple of other players spoke, one of them played the piano, and they all sang the "Army of Helaman" song. I'm really glad we ended up going! And now we can't wait to go see them play some rough and tough football tonight...I am most excited to see them do the Haka before the game! I remember watching Bryce Mahuika's Dad do the Haka at a Relief Society function in Vancouver...I've always heard the story of this ritual that they do; and the story behind it; I've always wanted to see it done! Anyway...GO COUGARS!!!!!

My new Niece...isn't she cute!

So we have a new member of the family...she was pretty excited for me to add her picture to the blog...Meet Kylie Moody (not to be confused with the adorable Kylie Chalmers)!

More Random Thoughts...

So as I was finishing up my third hour of folding laundry last week something dawned on me...I had to take some pictures and add it to the blog for memory sake...here was the epiphany... In not enough years from now; I am going be WISHING that I had three hours worth of laundry to be folding! Notice my friend Vincent D'Onofrio in the background...he's kept me company during many laundry folding sessions over the past 10 years!

Papa's Graduation

We got to go to Houston a couple of weekends ago to see Papa graduate! I was so glad that we were all able to make it down there! It was so exciting and inspiring to watch him walk across that stage! Congrats Papa!! Here are some of the highlights!
Gotta love road trips!
We had a quick pit stop...I've actually never seen a play set at a rest stop...the kids enjoyed it for about 1 minute!
Here's what we looked at for about 10 hours that day...the back of Mat's truck!
The graduation was postponed one week due to Hurricane Ike...We were able to capture a couple of pictures of the damage in Houston...notice all the boarded windows on this building...
This was such a cute sight to me...I had to take a picture...Addison LOVES "her Jasy"!
Finally to the graduation!
