Taylore's Hip Hop Recital

Today was Taylore's Hip Hop Dance recital! She started a hip hop class with Macall and Kate in January. She has really enjoyed it; I don't know if it was the class she enjoyed more; or carpooling with Macall and Kate. She did a really great job; her teacher even told us that she's a "natural" her first couple weeks. They did a great job today at the recital! (Thanks to Erin for the pictures.)
This picture is so typical of Taylore; I love it; it caught her personality perfectly!

Flashback Friday - Growing up WAY TOO FAST!!!

My kids are getting so big I can hardly stand it; I decided tonight I didn't want to go so far back into the past for Flashback Friday! It's hard to believe that my little baby is not so much of a baby any more (none of them are actually)! While it is SO MUCH FUN to have them getting bigger and being able to see them mature into these wonderful kids ; I sure do miss the baby stage! (No, that doesn't mean it's time for another one!) I'll just enjoy looking at the pictures!

Flashback Friday - 2 made 5 and 5 made 23

While browsing through the pictures tonight I found this picture of Aaron's family that was taken somewhere around 1975 (not sure of the year; but had to be close to '75) Aaron's the baby; isn't he adorable (he was almost as cute then as he is now)! Then I realized that while we were in Florida in December for Mae's (the oldest Moody grandchild) wedding there was a picture taken of Mammer and Papa with all 23 of their grandchildren!

Flashback Friday - Teaching Them Young

My good friend Erin gave me this great idea after seeing the lovely picture of Aaron with the sign. She told me that a friend of hers does "Flashback Fridays". I thought this was such a great idea! So...I went upstairs tonight and rummaged through a box of pictures that I have. What is funny about the pictures for this week is; when I took the picture of Jocelyn about 9 years ago, I knew there was a similar picture of me somewhere lost in the vault of pictures that my mom lugged around with her from house to house through the years. Never in a million years did I think that my mom would go through ALL those pictures before they left on their mission, and send them to all of her children. I was sent an entire box of pictures, one of which was this....Erin, thanks for the idea! This is going to be so much fun!

Taylore's Field Trip to Meadow Farms

I was able to go on Taylore's field trip with her class on Wednesday. It was short and sweet! It's an old farm of a family back in 1860. It was lots of fun to see the animals and the old houses. Mostly, I just enjoyed hanging out with Taylore, it's always fun to see them with their classmates. This was in the first little house that we were in, it was pretty much a one bedroom house, with a REALLY small bed! Taylore stayed pretty interested in everything they were being told! AND...The bus ride home is always fun!

The Show Must Go On!

VERY early yesterday morning Addison woke up with a fever. I kept her home from school, and besides running a couple of quick errands, we pretty much stayed around the house. She had a Recital Rehearsal at 5:30 pm we had to be there at 5:00). At about 4:00, she fell asleep on the couch. I went back and forth about whether or not I wanted to wake her up to get ready and go to the rehearsal (if they don't do rehearsal they can't go to the Recital). I ended up getting her into her costume at about 4:45 (she was still sleeping), she woke up in pretty good spirits. We made it to the rehearsal, they did a fabulous job. She went right to sleep last night. This morning however...She's not doing so well, she woke up at about 5:30 AM, as you can see by the bowl next to her, she hasn't gotten much better since then. Poor girl!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was fabulous. The kids and Aaron brought me breakfast in bed; I was expecting yogurt (that's what I eat every day for breakfast) and the girls surprised me with a nice warm breakfast of scrambled eggs with veggies. It was actually really good. All of the kids gave me cards and letters, and then we were lazy for a little bit before we had to all jump up and get ready for church. At church I am usually in the nursery, however, for Mother's Day the men in the ward take over the women's calling, so I was able to go to Relief Society and Sunday School! I thoroughly enjoyed it; which is a new development, because in the past I would do just about anything to get out of either of those meetings. After church Jason Myers came by with a couple of his Cadettes to visit. He is on his annual trip that he makes with the Utah State ROTC, he brings a group of students to do a historical tour of the sites in Virginia and Maryland. He visited at the house for a little bit, then Aaron and I went to dinner with them! It was REALLY yummy.

"A Picture Says A Thousand Words"

I was doing a massive cleaning in my bedroom today! It is so much fun to find old pictures! In this case, I found a picture that shows Aaron's personality so well, I couldn't just put it back in the box never to be seen again (or at least not for many years)! I remember the day this picture was taken so well. Mat had come to visit in Washington, Addison was only a few months old. We had all gone to our favorite restaurant in Vancouver, WA, Beaches for dinner! After dinner we all went for a walk along the Columbia river. Aaron found this little metal sign laying on the side of the path next to the river and HAD to have me take a picture! As I said...A picture says a thousand words!

Emma's Wonder Woman Birthday Party (at the pool)

Emma invited her friends AND their families to her Wonder Woman birthday party; it was so much fun! Emma (otherwise known tonight as "Wonder Woman")! All of the kids were jumping off the diving board and asking for me to take pictures! Here they all are! Haden doing a flip off the diving board. Macall doing splits off the diving board. London catching some air off the diving board. Jocelyn being crazy off the diving board... TWICE!!Taylore doing a hurkee off the diving board. And a final flip from Haden. The girls all had a blast playing together. (somehow I didn't get a picture of any of the boys.)Addison and Lizzie having the time of their lives...AS ALWAYS!!!It looked to me like Emma and Carrington REALLY enjoyed the cupcakes! Thanks, Richardsons! The party was lots of fun! Happy Birthday Wonder Woman!

Mother's Day Tea with Addison

Wednesday morning I got to go to school with Addison for "Mother's Day Tea". It is always so much fun to go and see Addison at school with her friends. They sang us a few songs and then presented us with Mother's Day gifts. I loved the picture that Addison drew of me, as the teacher mentioned, it captured her personality so well!Addison and her friend, Ava.Addison and her Preschool teachers, Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Hunter.Just before it was time to go some of the mom's asked if we could gather all of the kids together for a picture. I was standing off to the side a little bit right before I took my picture, the scene was too perfect not to take a picture...

Makeovers and Stories with Aunt April

Sunday morning VERY EARLY Mother, Dad, Malcolm and Mat left to go home. April stayed with us on Sunday. After a LAZY morning, we went to church. When we got home April did makeovers for the girls.Just before the kids had to go to bed April gathered all the kids around her to tell them "bedtime stories". Addison kept asking what she was going to tell them stories about, she told them, "a little boy". April spent the next half hour telling the kids stories about when Aaron was little. Our favorite story was the one about him running around the house when he was Addison's age in Superman underwear and cape! :) Thanks, April! It was lots of fun to hear about Aaron as a little boy!

"Aaron's Family" Pictures

We took two last pictures of the family before people had to start leaving.

Gifts for the Grad; and more...

We all gathered in the family room for Aaron to open some gifts...Mammer and Papa even gave all the kids and a I a picture frame each with a picture of each of us and Aaron! They are very cool and now this weekend will be remembered every day when we look at those pictures.
