Addie's Work/Play Station...

A few weeks ago I looked upstairs at the landing and saw that Addison had moved the nightstand out onto the landing and was coloring on it...later that night I heard banging in the stair well and realized Addison was trying to carry it downstairs! Aaron ran to the stairs to help her with it...I had visions of she and the nightstand tumbling down the stairs together...
Ever since that night anytime we walk in the door Addison goes straight to her work station...she looks like a little school teacher sitting at her "desk" coloring, cutting out, glueing....she LOVES sitting at her desk...I have a feeling she will be spending a lot of time just like this all summer....
Last week she came in with a "Tiki" that she made for Lizzie...I am still amazed that two years later she still misses her little friend so much! (The "Tiki" will be in the mail soon!)

Jocelyn Driving?!?!?

I have started to have to face the reality that my baby girl is growing up...she reminds me daily that she is now a "High Schooler"...I think often about the fact that in a few short months she will be learning how to drive...I don't really remember learning how to drive...which tells me I must have blocked it out (although I'm sure my parents remember it well!!!)...I do however remember my brothers and sisters learning how to drive! I decided maybe it will be a good thing for Jocelyn to be a little bit comfortable behind the wheel before she actually starts driving (I realize that makes NO sense whatsoever...if she is behind the wheel she is already driving...) Anyhow...I decided as I noticed the almost empty parking lot at Target tonight that she could drive a hundred feet and certainly it wouldn't hurt anything! She was SHOCKED when I asked her if she wanted to.... Make a long story short...it's a good thing that the car was in neutral when I told her to barely tap the gas...all I heard was the engine revving, and when she did get it into drive it was a good thing nobody was behind us (and we had our seat belts on to stop us from hitting the windshield) when I told her to tap the brake! In the end I think she will have a fond memory of her first time "driving", every one and the car survived unharmed, and we came out of it laughing!

Weekend with Papa

We had a great weekend with Papa...only bad thing about it...it was WAY too short! We arrived on Friday night and Papa had a delicious roast ready to eat...after dinner we watched a movie and went to bed! Saturday morning we got up and went to the Kolachi Factory for breakfast, then we went to see Shrek 3 in 3D...I wanted to take a picture with all of us in our 3D glasses...but I didn't! After the movie we went and got a snack at Buffalo Wild Wings, then we went to Lowe's and got some flowers for Papa's yard. Each of the kids helped plant a flower!
The rest of the day on Saturday we pretty much relaxed (I read) and played games. In the evening we went for a walk at one of the local parks...I didn't go dressed to run...but I did anyway..I'm sure it was quite a sight! Sunday morning we got up and went to church came home and Papa made us a delicious brunch...we hung around for a little while longer before it was time to head home ! Great memories...thank you Papa!
I did manage to get Jocelyn in her 3D glasses...she wears them well.
The finished product.
I finally realized that the problem with my camera was that the lens had condensation...made for an interesting picture!

Last Day of School...Heading to Houston to see Papa!

It is the last day of school...we have all our kiddos picked up and school and we're headed to Houston to spend the weekend with Papa! Looking forward to a fabulous summer!

Taylore's 4th Grade Awards

Taylore had such a fabulous year this year! This was her last year of elementary school...where does the time go? I was so proud of her at the ceremony today....she worked so hard this school year. Some of the awards she was most excited about were "Perfect Attendance", "A-B Honor Roll" (even though she ended up with ALL A's), and she was 3rd place girl for running in gym!
After the 4th grade awards this was the second year to do the "clap out"...the 4th graders parade through the school (last year the parents walked with them)...the entire school claps for them as they walk through the halls...it's kind of a cool tradition. This is Addison waiting for Taylore to pass through her hallway!

Haden's 5th Grade Awards

Where we live in Texas there are 4 schools the kids attend...K-4 is Elementary...5th & 6th is Intermediate...7th & 8th is Middle...and 9th-12th is High...
Haden was in his first year of intermediate school this year...he had such a fabulous year in 5th grade...he did so well! I was so proud at his awards ceremony...I was thrilled about all of his awards but he was most happy about receiving "Math Olympiad", "Top Ten in Team 5E" and "25 Mile Club"

Kindergarten Graduation...

Well it is official...Addie has finished Kindergarten...it is so hard to believe that this school year is over...I looked forward to it with such anxiety...could not believe it was already time for her to be in school...and now the first year is gone! She learned so much...I will have to post the poem read by her teacher at this ceremony!
Mrs. Crawford reading a tear jerking letter to the Kinder parents in her class...there were lots of tears...it was funny ladies were passing tissue around the room!
