Funny Addie

We are getting ready to have some friends of Addison's over for a few hours. I was feeding her lunch; I told her that she needed to hurry up and eat before they came over. She asked why she had to hurry. I said to her, "It's rude to eat in front of people." Addison said, "Mom, it's okay; they're not going to stand behind me; it won't be rude." She always keeps us laughing!

Haden's Blue & Gold Banquet

Haden's Blue and Gold Banquet for cub scouts was last night. The theme for the night was Chinese New Year. One of the things the boys had to do for the event was decorate a cake with their Dad's. Mom could not help AT ALL (except for baking the cake). Aaron and Haden figured out how to write Happy New Year in Chinese, (which took a bit of searching online, and downloading so that the characters would show up as more than little squares). Here is the finished project before the Blue and Gold. All of the cakes were judged; Haden won the prize for the "Most Frosting". After the judging was done the mom's served their son's cake. Haden's cake was almost ALL eaten. I guess people like the idea of the most frosting. After dinner was over (which was Chinese Sundaes; otherwise known as Hawaiian Haystacks), the boys all did their skits. Haden's class had made a Dragon; they paraded around the gym with it. It looked REALLY cool!

Family Fun Night

Tonight was "Family Fun Night" at Addison's Preschool. Addison was so excited for all of us to go to her school; from the second she got home from preschool today she was jumping up and down telling everyone that it was Family Night at HER preschool. I think she's so used to being dragged around to all of the other kids stuff that it was fun for it to be "HER" thing tonight. We won a bid on a camping "basket", which was actually a cooler. We can't wait to use all of the stuff when it gets warm enough to camp again. (It will only be our second family camping trip. The first one was over Labor Day of 2007.) Anyway, the kids had fun. There was a little show at the end with a couple that lets the kids go up on stage and sing and dance. Afterwards we went with some friends to Chick-Fil-A and let the kids run around in the playground! It was lots of fun! It wore the kids out, in fact, we only just got home a few minutes ago and I'm pretty sure at least two of the four are already asleep.

Shirley Temple

You wouldn't think that a girl with as many curls as Taylore has would ever have the need to wear curlers! However, here she is, with a head full of curlers. She has a report at school today, "Famous Americans"; Taylore chose to be Shirley Temple. She looked adorable!!
