Haden's Blue and Gold Banquet for cub scouts was last night. The theme for the night was Chinese New Year. One of the things the boys had to do for the event was decorate a cake with their Dad's. Mom could not help AT ALL (except for baking the cake). Aaron and Haden figured out how to write Happy New Year in Chinese, (which took a bit of searching online, and downloading so that the characters would show up as more than little squares). Here is the finished project before the Blue and Gold.
All of the cakes were judged; Haden won the prize for the "Most Frosting". After the judging was done the mom's served their son's cake. Haden's cake was almost ALL eaten. I guess people like the idea of the most frosting.
After dinner was over (which was Chinese Sundaes; otherwise known as Hawaiian Haystacks), the boys all did their skits. Haden's class had made a Dragon; they paraded around the gym with it. It looked REALLY cool!

I can't believe that your men decorated that cake. I know who I am requesting a cake from on my next birthday! I am also VERY impressed with the dragon. When you don't have someone in scouts you never see all of the hard work!
